This author is available for school visits and creative writing workshops

A Snowflake Imprint. The Creative Writing Textbook helps children relax and have fun with creative writing. The exercises in this book are suitable for ages 7-13, but are useful for children younger and older than this, depending on their abilities. This book is a good starting point for children who have difficulties with English, as well as those with an interest/ability in creative writing. The second book in the series includes familiar exercises like Story Practice, as well as new ones like A Real Story and Treasure Trail.

The exercises in this book have been used successfully in classroom and home education settings, with children of varying ages and abilities. They have been created by Amanda J. Harrington, a professional writer and experienced tutor.

There are three editions of The Creative Writing Textbook for Children: one for personal use, a teacher's edition, which includes a license to photocopy and a printable e-book for personal use (see below). The teacher's edition also includes teacher's notes and suggestions on how the exercises benefit the student.

"I have purchased the book for my 12 almost 13 year old and he loves it. The exercises can be done by an older or younger child as it all depends on their interpretation of the exercise and their ability. My son is working through the book doing one to two exercises as soon as he gets up in the morning and he is really enjoying it."  Petra

"I have purchased The Creative Writing Textbook for Children for my 9 year old who is dyslexic and mild ADHD. I would really recommend it as we are having great fun with it." Charley

The Boy Who Broke the School

A.J. Harrington

This author is available for school visits and creative writing workshops

Daniel is the school bully and proud of it. When he is given the gift of a tiny stone, he doesn't realise that every time he does something bad, the stone will grow. When it's big enough, it will come to find him. Will he be able to change before it's too late?

This book deals with bullying, friendship and magic, interwoven to bring you a story full of surprises and without any sloppy bits. The main character is the bully and you won't know whether to hope he does get his comeuppance or keep your fingers crossed for his escape.

For bullied and bullies alike, The Boy Who Broke the School is full of humour and action, with plenty of real life horror, such as school, teachers and packed lunches.
